Austin Arrington is one of our awesome history teachers. A native of Craven County, he attended ECU and is now in his 10th year at West Craven. He loves that there's always something more to learn about history and how one fact can totally change your perspective on something. His hobbies outside of the classroom include hosting a weekly trivia game and performing onstage at the local theatres.

Dr. Syuen Walker
World History and World History Honors
Hello, my name is Dr. Syuen Walker, and I am excited to be your teacher! I am originally from Kingston, Jamaica, and I have a deep love for learning and sharing knowledge with others. After high school, I studied at The Mico Teacher’s College, one of the oldest institutions in the Caribbean. I later pursued higher education in the United States, earning degrees in Psychology, Education, and, most recently, a Ph.D. in Education. I enjoy taking on new challenges and believe learning should always be an adventure. Outside of teaching, I love traveling, exploring new cultures, reading, and spending quality time with my family. As your teacher, I aim to create a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom where everyone feels encouraged to grow, take risks, and reach their highest potential.
