My name is Michelle Cannon I have a wonderful husband and three boys at home. I enjoy spending time in the mountains along with cheering on our boys from the sidelines. I graduated from West craven high school in 2008. This is my 8th school year here but my first serving as the school bookkeeper and I’m thrilled to take on this new role.

Hey y’all! I’m Madison Moore, and I’m so excited to be at West Craven this year! I’m 24, a proud Vanceboro native and WCHS class of 2019, I actually have a little family connection here my stepdad teaches here too! My mom’s also a teacher in the county, so you could say school is kind of in my blood. I’ve got two brothers who keep life interesting, too. Before West Craven, I worked at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary in the Exceptional Children’s program with some of the sweetest kiddos and the best coworkers ever. Outside of school, I’m all about curling up with a good book, hanging out with my sweet friends, kitties and traveling!

Hi! My name is Courtney Mickey, and I am the Administrative Assistant at West Craven High. I recently moved to New Bern, but I have spent my whole life in the Outer Banks. I have a cat named Fish, whom I love with my whole heart. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, reading, fishing, and trying to keep my plants alive. I hold an Associate Degree in Applied Science for Early Childhood Development and am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

I’m happy to be a part of the West Craven Eagle Family! I will be entering my 26th year in education. I am a graduate of Elizabeth City State University, where I earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Education. I later earned my Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. I began working in Craven County Schools during the 2021–2022 school year.
I currently serve as an District Exceptional Children (EC) Program Specialist, supporting teachers, staff, and students across our district. My focus is on ensuring compliance, providing instructional support, and helping students with disabilities reach their full potential especially in the areas of transition planning and work-based learning. I am passionate about creating inclusive environments where all students can thrive and I'm proud to work alongside educators and families to support student success both in school and beyond.
