Dr. Nannette Walston-Moore

Principal

As a proud 1995 graduate of West Craven High School, Dr. Nannette Walston-Moore is incredibly honored to return home and rejoin her Eagle family. Having dedicated years to the district as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher and extracurricular advisor, her journey in education has come full circle. She is deeply committed to building upon the rich legacy of past generations while paving a successful path forward for future Eagle alumni, eagerly looking forward to supporting students across all areas—from academics and athletics to the arts.

Throughout her 16-year career, Dr. Walston-Moore’s leadership has been consistently recognized, earning her honors as Beginning Teacher of the Year, West Craven Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Craven County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year (2024–2025). She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and a Master’s in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, and earned her undergraduate degree from Saint Augustine’s University.

Assistant Principal

I am so excited to join West Craven High School as an Assistant Principal. Throughout my career in Craven County Schools, I have served as a math teacher, assistant principal, principal, district instructional leader, and AVID support lead. These experiences have allowed me to work closely with students, teachers, families, and community members to support student achievement and create positive learning environments.

I am especially happy to be returning to the west side of the county, a community that holds a special place in my heart. I believe in building strong relationships, supporting teachers in their growth, and ensuring all students have the opportunities and resources they need to be successful.

Outside of school, I am a wife and mother who enjoys reading, working puzzles, and spending time with my family. I look forward to becoming part of the West Craven High School family and working alongside our students, staff, and community as we continue to build on the school's success.
